If 48 hours is not given you will forfeit your deposit and another deposit will need to be paid to rebook another day.
Please arrive on time for your appointment. Arriving late may mean your appointment will be rescheduled and you will lose your deposit.
Do not bring children to your appointment with you.
We cannot guarantee how long your PMU will last as this depends on your lifestyle and body. We will not be held responsible for poor retention.
I understand that in very rare cases, the pigment will not hold at all due to skin type. You agree that although we will endeavour to work with best practice, we cannot be held responsible for low or no pigment retention.
I understand that some skins may not retain the ‘crispness’ of the pigmented hairstroke and others (although rare) may not retain the hairstroke at all as it can blur over time.
We will comply with all relevant health and safety legislation and exercise reasonable care and skill in delivering Services to Clients.
I understand PMU is a form of tattoo that implants pigment into the skin using a needle.
I understand that brows are sisters and not twins and they will never be 100% identical as your face shape is different from one side to the other. Brow mapping is done before your treatment to ensure we are both happy with how your brows will look before we start the treatment.
I understand this is a two part procedure. The retouch treatment follows the initial treatment and is complimentary to the Initial Treatment, this is free of charge on the strict condition that it is booked at the time of Your Initial Treatment and is then undertaken within 12 weeks of Your Initial Treatment. If it is not taken within these 12 weeks you will be charged £75 for the retouch.
In the event that you become pregnant between your first permanent makeup treatment and your free of charge follow up appointment, the treatment is terminated and the free of charge appointment is lost. You accept that you are not entitled to any refund either in full or part. We agree to recommence the treatment at full cost with a 20% discount applied after your period of confinement . You agree to take this treatment within 24 months of the first treatment. The 20% discount is from the full price at the time of the recommenced treatment.
Clients coming to us for appointments that have previously been elsewhere for permanent make up will be charged as a new client and not as a colour boost as previous work has not been carried out at A Quiet Space and may need correction.
We agree to provide the Services using the standard of care to be reasonably expected of a commercial provider of the Services. We also agree only to use materials and products sourced from reputable companies that meet EU standards (and whether organic, inorganic, synthetic organic or synthetic inorganic) which, at the time of Your treatment, comply fully with all applicable legal regulations within the United Kingdom and the European Union.
You have read the pre procedure advice before coming in for your appointment. You are 18 and over. You are not pregnant and breastfeeding and have disclosed any medical issues and medication.
Consultations are complementary and there is no obligation to book.
Certain factors beyond Our control (including Your own specific skin characteristics) create Risks which you understand and for which you take full and sole responsibility;
I understand that there are everyday risks of post-treatment infection (in and around the area of Treatment) which are beyond Our control and for which you take full and sole responsibility;
Consultation and consent form;
Every treatment starts with a consultation where you will be asked to complete a consent form for the treatment. If one is not completed the treatment will not be carried out.
This consent form outlines the aftercare you will need to follow for the best possible results. We will not be held responsible for poor retention especially where aftercare is not adhered to.
The consent form asks for permission to use photos and videos taken during the treatment on social media and for marketing purposes, if permission is not given this will be fully respected. Where photos and videos are used no royalties will be paid.
Your consent form explains this is a two part process, the cost includes your initial treatment, a retouch 6-12 weeks later and aftercare products. If the retouch is not taken in this time an extra cost will be incurred, therefore we advise you to book this at the end of your initial treatment.
You need both treatments to complete the process, You have the right to discontinue treatment at any time however no part refunds will be given if you do not have your retouch appointment.
Some clients may require a third treatment, this is usually clients with oiler skin or that are on medication. A third retouch will be charged at £75
The possible risk involved will be discussed, these may include but are not limited to bruising, swelling, allergic reactions, bleeding, infection and scarring.
A medical history form will be filled out disclosing any medication or medical issues. Your safety is my utmost priority. Some medications or issues may prevent the treatment being carried out or may require GP consent. Understand that some medications can cause poor pigment retention.
You will sign to confirm the results from the patch test before anything is carried out.
All pre-procedure advice must be adhered to.
Mapping consent will be signed once you are happy with the design. You will accept the result of Your Treatment and/or Follow Up Treatment without any legal recourse to Us on the understanding that You will pre-approve both the shape and colouring of the Permanent Make Up at the beginning of Your Treatment.
See aftercare section for details on how to care for your brows.

Given the nature of the treatment and costs involved refunds will not be given. Everything is in place to make sure you are happy with your brows before the treatment has actually started and mapping consent has been fully agreed. It is important that you are fully confident and sure you would like this treatment done, those who are unsure will be advised to wait until they are completely confident that this is something they want to go ahead with.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Permanent Make Up?
Permanent make up is a form of tattooing also know as micro pigmentation. It uses pigments (similar to tattoo inks) that are embedded into the dermis of the skin to create long-lasting eyebrow definition which can mimic hairstrokes and brow make up. Results can be as bold or realistic as you prefer.
What are the different finishes that can be achieved?
The finishes are ombre, hair strokes powder and combination brows. A full description for these can be found in my services section on the website.
Who is permanent make up good for?
This can only be performed on clients over the age of 18, and have the ability to heal properly from minor wounds. Not pregnant or breastfeeding.
It is great for people who can’t wear traditional makeup due to allergies and skin sensitivities.
Active people who want to look their best for sports activities such as swimming, hiking, biking, tennis, aerobics, and those who don’t want to worry about sweating off or reapplying traditional makeup during exercise routines.
Permanent Cosmetics also benefits the visually impaired who have difficulty applying their makeup and others with dexterity related conditions such as arthritis, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke survivors.
Busy people who don’t have time to spend applying and refreshing makeup throughout the day and evening.
People suffering alopecia and hair loss from medical treatments
People suffering bad eyesight, who have trouble applying makeup
People simply unhappy with their eyebrows shape
People who’s eyebrows are very fair, over plucked or not symmetrical
People who want to wear full makeup all day without spending money on regular cosmetics
What is the difference between permanent makeup and semi-permanent makeup?
There is no difference between them, some artists call it semi permanent and others call it permanent. Permanent cosmetics procedures are considered permanent because pigment is tattooed into the upper reticular part of the dermal layer of the skin and cannot be washed off. However, as with any tattoo or colorant (pigment) in general, fading can and often does occur, requiring periodic maintenance referred to as a colour boost. Longevity varies from person to person depending on life style including sun exposure. Following aftercare is vital for your finished look.
How is the procedure carried out?
A patch test is carried out 48 hours prior to the treatment start. This is performed by placing a tiny amount of pigment into the skin usually behind the ear. This needs to be performed to make sure there is no allergy to the pigment. Every permanent makeup procedure is a two part process, initial treatment and a retouch 6-12 weeks later. On the day of treatment a very detailed consultation is carry out to ensure you are safe to have the treatment. Brow mapping and discussions will ensure we can manage your expectations, and that you have a shape you will be happy with. The procedure is carried out following strict hygiene guidelines. A retouch appointment will be carried out 6-12 weeks later to ensure evenness of pigment and a beautiful brow. Full aftercare will be explained and you will leave with full instructions to follow to ensure best results and skin healing.
Does the process of Permanent Makeup hurt?
The most important for me is that you are comfortable during the procedure although there is some discomfort associated with it, this will vary according to each individual’s pain threshold. However on a scale of 10 I would place it at a 2-3. To make you feel more comfortable during the treatment I would advise wearing comfortable clothes and bringing headphone so you can listen to music.
How long does it take?
The initial procedure will generally take approximately 3.5 hours as a full consultation is carried out, photographs are take, the desired design and colour are discussed, the procedure is performed, and the aftercare requirements are discussed. Follow up or colour refresher procedures usually do not require the same amount of time.
What is the difference between Microblading and machine tattooing
Microblading uses a handheld manual device which has a row of tiny needles, used in a slicing motion to embed pigment into the skin. Microblading is not suitable for thicker, oilier skin types. It can give great results. Machine work uses a needle cartridge, this technique is more like stitching in and out of the skin embedding pigment, this technique is known to be less traumatic on the skin. Techniques and needle choices can be adapted to suit all skin types. This can be discussed during consultation to find the best technique for your skin type. A Quiet Space only uses machine method and not Microblading.
Is it safe?
Most equipment used is single use only and is disposed of correctly after each treatment, any tools that aren’t are disinfected or sterilised before and after each client. All worktops, couch, trolleys and chairs are wiped in-between each client and are covered during the treatment.
All Needles are new and sterile for each client. Unopened new and sterile needles will be opened in front of clients.
Personal protection equipment such as disposable one-time use aprons and gloves are worn during the treatment, these are new for each client and changed during the procedure when needed.
Disposable one-time use chair/bed covering are used for each client.
Allergic reactions to the pigments are incredibly rare. The pigments contain iron oxide that is already present in the human body, so highly unlikely to cause a reaction. Some doctors recommend that people with environmental allergies or allergies to conventional makeup have permanent cosmetic procedures because they can replace cosmetic products that people are sensitive to. While allergic reactions to any type of tattooing pigments on the body or on the face through permanent cosmetics may occur at any point in time, they are extremely rare. The patch test is carried out to eliminate reactions from occurring to pigments. However allergies can occur from other products or nickel from the needles used.
What should I do to prepare for my procedure?
Do not touch your eyebrows a week prior to the treatment (no tweezing, waxing or tinting)
Stop using any retinols and skin exfoliating products on the area to be treated at least two weeks before your permanent cosmetics.
Avoid drinking caffeine and alcohol the night before and morning of your treatment.
Do not take Aspirin (unless medically advised to do so) Fish Oil, Coumadin, Vitamin E or Ibuprofen before your treatment as these all thin the blood.
No sunbeds or sun exposure or sunburn
Ensure you have had your patch test
Disclosed any medical conditions
Allow plenty of time for your appointment
Come with your eyebrow penciled how you would normally wear then daily.
Make sure you are fit and well
For your comfort you may bring headphones and music, a blanket and wear comfortable clothes.
You must be off Accutane (acne medication) for 12 months due to the thinness of the skin and sensitivity.
How I will look straight after the treatment?
Straight after the treatment the treated area can become red and swollen which will dissipate within two hours. Your eyebrows will appear darker initially which will fade while they heal.
How long will my Permanent Make Up last for?
Because everyone is different, pigment fades due to the natural exfoliation of the skin and lifestyle factors. It can last anywhere from 1-5 years depending on the individual skin regeneration. A colour boost appointment after a year is recommended to refresh the design, keep the colour fresh and the strokes crisp. Overall the Permanent Makeup will last as long it is maintained.
Why second appointment is important?
The retouch appointment is to intensify the pigment and touch up any uneven areas that may occur when healing. Some parts may not hold as well as others, and you may have a few patches that need more colour added or where hair-strokes may have faded. This is completely normal and everyone heals differently. Any tweaks will be made in the appointment also. No retouch will be performed any sooner than 6 weeks after the initial treatment, to allow full skin healing. There is no additional charge for this retouch. Ant retouches after this will incur a charge.
How is colour chosen for my eyebrows?
Your pigment colour is chosen depending on your skin tones and hair colour to get the perfect match for you. This is discussed during the consultation. It is recommended to go lighter until we see healed results, we can always go darker at the retouch. We cannot lighten.
How do I take care of my permanent makeup?
Follow all aftercare advice. You will need to apply the aftercare as instructed, which will be provided for you in your aftercare pack.
Make sure that the treated area is dry and clean. No swimming, sweating or otherwise getting the area wet.
No tanning/sun exposure including from sunbeds.
No picking, peeling or scratching while they heal.
Once the brows are healed up you can treat them normally. I would recommend exfoliating monthly (once healed) to remove and dead and dry skin from the brows and avoid putting foundation on them as it can make to colour appear dull and washed out.
Wear SPF 50 on them when in the sun and wear a hat.
Smoking will prematurely fade your cosmetics.
Do not exercise on the day of you treatment.
The full aftercare instructions can be found in the aftercare section of the website.
What if I don’t like it?
Although the procedure is considered permanent, these procedures do have flexibility in changing colour and shape to some extent on the retouch or at the colour boost appointment. Colours will appear darker immediately following the procedure but will soften and lighten during the healing process. The healing time is different for each individual and procedure. Wait until they have healed to make you final decision for changes at retouch. Permanent make up can be removed (not always fully depending on how saturated your artist has done your brows) either with laser or professional solutions.
Can I still have an MRI scan?
Numerous studies have shown that even for people who have large body tattoos there is little to no potential for irritation resulting from an MRI. In the rare instance where discomfort resulted, it was localized and very temporary. However, with that said, it is prudent to advise your MRI technician that you have permanent cosmetics.
